The default Ontario calendar uses the nine ESA public-holiday dates. Civic Holiday, Easter Monday, and Remembrance Day are not excluded by default because they are not province-wide ESA public holidays; federal, municipal, employer, school, and contractual calendars can differ. Canada Day is tied to July 1, 1867, when the Constitution Act created the Dominion of Canada. In business-day calculations, its observed date can matter when July 1 falls on a weekend.
