How Exact Business Days Calculates Working Days
Exact Business Days counts business days by moving through each calendar date in the selected range or direction and checking whether that date is eligible to count.
Saturdays and Sundays are excluded by default. When Weekends + holidays is selected, public holidays from the selected country and region are excluded too.
The Include start date option controls whether the first date can count as day one when it is itself a valid business day. Add days and Subtract days move forward or backward until the requested number of eligible business days has been reached.
Holiday calendars are generated for 2026 and 2027, cross-checked against the linked government sources, and frozen into the site build so calculations do not depend on a third-party API at runtime.
The Ontario default follows the nine public-holiday dates in the Employment Standards Act. Civic Holiday, Easter Monday, and Remembrance Day are not excluded by default; federal, municipal, employer, school, and contractual calendars may treat them differently.
Observed dates and substitute holidays are included where the source calendar provides them. Weekend holidays remain in the data for transparency but do not reduce a Monday-to-Friday total unless an observed weekday is also listed.
The Business Days From Today page is refreshed at the Cloudflare edge so its crawlable answer uses the current date rather than the date of the last deployment.
Business-day definitions can vary by employer, contract, industry, bank, court, city, province, state, territory, or country. Use the result as a planning tool and review important legal, payroll, financial, shipping, or contractual deadlines before relying on them.
